Touch free parking solution RingGo Retail launches with PayPoint

RingGo, the UK’s leading cashless parking provider, has today announced the launch of RingGo Retail in collaboration with PayPoint. RingGo Retail is an inclusive parking solution that offers drivers the option of paying for their parking, touch free, in a retail shop rather than having to pay at a machine.

RingGo Retail is designed to aid social inclusion by allowing all drivers to pay for parking regardless of smartphone ownership as it offers motorists the option of paying to park via a nearby shop. The retailer enters the details of the parking session, after which motorists can pay touch free.

The solution is available for use nationwide in over 400 towns and cities at over 27,000 PayPoint convenience stores. Each of RingGo’s local authority and private parking operators has the option of using it as they wish.

With this new service RingGo adds another solution to its existing portfolio of payment options in order to create an end-to-end solution and further digitise parking payments. RingGo Retail lets local authorities and private operators remove or reduce their historic reliance on pay-and-display machines.

Adding the retail option to RingGo’s portfolio of app and web payment capabilities, provides motorists with multiple ways to pay touch free for parking. The nearest retail location can be found by either the RingGo or PayPoint websites.

Peter O’Driscoll, RingGo’s Managing Director says: “So many of our local authority and parking operator partners have been asking how they can move to completely touch free parking. For those who want to cut out cash and card machines we, historically, have been offering phone parking as a solution. With the addition of RingGo Retail, at no additional cost to providers, we’ve created an inclusive solution that allows people without smartphones still to park. Now drivers across all demographics can choose how they pay touch free. On the move with RingGo or via contactless at one of 27,000 outlets across the UK, whatever way they prefer.”

Danny Vant, Client Services Director at PayPoint, said: “Accepting RingGo payments across our network of 27,000 retailers is another example of how we are transforming convenience for both retailers and consumers. We’re proud of this new partnership as it offers greater accessibility to both our partners and customers.”
